Madhavan is known in the film circles as the protege of Mani Rathnam. Mani Rathnam launched him in a big way in the southern film industry. The films like ‘Sakhi’ and ‘Cheli’ were instrumental in getting him a chocolate boy image. He is trying and straining every nerve, one needs to erase that image.

When asked about it Madhavan had this to say, “Those two films were love stories. I had to be malleable and lighthearted in those films. It led to girls calling him lover boy and chocolate boy. After those films, films that followed were all action entertainers attracting the masses in a notable way. I was not able to wipe out my first impression on the audience. With the film ‘Guru’, once more I will be able to draw the attention of the mass”.

Similarly in Hindi I would like to act with big time and top directors like Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rakesh Mehra, which in a way is good for my future. Because, they provide the right kind of roles and the range to perform in their movies is huge and the audience worldwide instantly notices you.

Will his Bollywood dreams be fulfilled we will have to wait and see?
