Fresh developments from New Delhi suggest that Megastar Chiranjeevi is all set to be appointed the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh by the high command of Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi. If the rumor becomes a reality, Chiru will be the last CM of the state of United Andhra Pradesh since the next elections will be held for two states of Telangana and Seemandhra.

So, dream comes true for Chiru who came into politics about 6 years ago but at a cost. His journey had been a bumpy ride all the way starting with a lukewarm response to his party in 2009 elections and the subsequent merger into Congress had given him a tough time from his fans and the public alike. His appointment as the minister of tourism has been a consolation but his confused stand over the division of state has pushed him into a political oblivion for a while.

The news of him becoming the Chief Minister however, will make his camp rejuvenate a bit. There were names like Botsa, Raghuveera Reddy and Kanna Lakshmi Narayana but it seems the popularity of Chiranjeevi has been the winner for him in the tight contest.

It will be interesting to see and listen to his first speech as the Chief Minister. Perhaps it will remind the public of his popular stint as a minister in his 1993 superhit flick ‘Mutha Mestri’
