Convivial family bonding almost flowed at the audio launch of Sankranthi.

It was a function befitting a prestigious film with a prestigious cast.

In that star-studded evening (graced by, among others, Venkatesh, Aarti, Sneha, Srikanth, Rama Naidu, R B Chowdary, Raghavendra Rao), the cymosure was Tamil actor Sarathkumar.

Everyone was wondering about the actor's, who is also an MP, presence at the function.

But apparently he was there as Chowdary's guest. Sarath and Chowdary's association go a long way back ---they have done 14 films together. The duo's suryavamsham in Tamil was remade in Telugu, and incidentally, Venkatesh did the role in Telugu.

So it was just logical Sarath was an invite to the function.

The cynosure of the evening was Venkatesh, who looked cool and composed. He knows the film has to be a hit and he was quietly confident of that.

He said the songs, set to tune by S A Rajkumar (his 150 film, as it happens), have come out well.
