Poonam may not had the copybook start to her career in Telugu films.

Her first film here was Modati Cinema. The movie, though got noticed, did not exactly cover itself with glory at the box office.

Then she had Premante Inthe, again with Navdeep. This was also a flop.

So many thought this Pune girl was finished as a heroine.

But certainly not. The spunky girl has managed to wrest movies left, right and centre.

She is currently one of the heroines for Nagarjuna's film for Kamakshi Movies.
