A successful Tamil film, through which Tarun made his debut into Tamil film industry, 'Punnagai Desam' is being remade in Telugu as 'Nava Vasantham' by NV Prasad and Paras Jain on the banner of Mega Super Good Films, with RB Choudary as presenter, and with Tarun, Priyamani, Akash, Rohit, Sunil and Ankitha in the lead.

Noted Tamil director Shahjahan is directing the movie. Incidentally, the Telugu original was also produced by Super Good Films.

The film was shot in a set that was specially erected on the Necklace Road for about 20 days. Later the climax was shot in a huge set that was built in Sarathi Studio of Hyderabad.

Presently picturisation of songs is in progress. Only two songs remained balance and they would be shot in the next schedule to begin from September 15. With this the shooting would be wrapped up.

There are seven songs and two bit songs in the movie.
