Historical subjects to be made in celluloid costs high and the upcoming ‘Arundhathi’ is no exception. The movie demanded lots which made the makers go on a spend thrift resulting in a budget of 13 crores. Starring Anushka in a dual role, director Kodi Ramakrishna is making the movie ‘Arundhathi’, produced by Shyam Prasad Reddy on Mallemala Entertainments banner. It is getting released in the month of January.

The shooting schedule lasted for 264 days over a span of two years. At first, the production cost was estimated as 4 Crores, but it exceeded to 13 Crores on its completion. A total of 3-lakhs and 20 thousand feet of film strip had been exposed in making the movie.

Production costs rose due to a garden that was planted in an old palace located at Banaganapalli which was under maintenance for two months. The old palace was also painted at random for filming and the same was converted into an old house for some scenes. The movie is getting ready for release on 9th January, 2008.

Koti has composed music for ‘Arundhati’ and KK Senthil Kumar cranks the camera. Deepak, Sonu Soodh and Shayaji Shinde are also a part of the prominent cast.
