Come April-May, Tollywood is bracing up for a tough competition. The industry, which experienced a bad summer in 2009, will hopefully have a grand season this time around. With a gala of films slated for Summer release, the Mercury can't be more unsparing - that is, to those in the business.

For us audience, the season will present bountiful entertainment, coming forth from our favourite stars and filmmakers. As a day remains to enter the new month, there will be Varudu inching towards occupying hundreds of theatres in the state, at least in the initial weeks. Releasing with 300 prints, the film is the most significant big ticket release in the coming weeks.

April will come up with films like Darling, Golimar and Simha, (in the order of their release), which are quite big films. Prabhas teams up with Karunakaran, with both of them hoping to consolidate their position at the BO. Golimar is the most important film for Gopichand, the actor who has been on the down slide for many years now. Puri Jagannadh hopes to make a formidable return after Ek Niranjan's failure.

Simha, starring Balakrishna, is another important release slated for big-time release in Andhra Pradesh as well as US (25 screens). Apart from these, Andari Banduvaya and Burudi are to be watched out for - while the former is a message-oriented film from the redoubtable Chandra Siddhartha, the latter is a comedy entertainer from Burudi, our favourite 'RMP doctor.'
