In February Suja Varunee of Nagavalli fame changed her name to mean 'Rain Goddess' in the hope that she will be flooded with offers. Thanks to numerology or otherwise, she has had two films on hand since then - one in Telugu, one in Tamil.

In Lakshmi Manchu's maiden production, Gundello Godari, she is cast opposite Aadi Pinishetty of Eka Veera fame. The film is being shot in the lush locations of West Godavari. She plays a bangle vendor here and will be seen in the flashback scenes with Aadi.

"The character is sure to woo audience. It was a pleasure singing and dancing for a number by Maestro Ilayaraja", says an elated Suja. Although Charmee and Deeksha Seth were kept in mind for this character, the director zeroed in on Suja.

She has wrapped her portions in the film, most of the scenes are said to be shot in and around Rajamundry, in the banks of river Godavari.

The film is titled ‘Maranthein Maniththen' in Tamil and 'Gunadallo Godari' in Telugu. It has Sundeep and Lakshmi Manu in pivotal roles and is about these four people who are stuck in floods. It's inspired from the 1986 floods and has a love story intertwined with it.
