Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 2 Early Report

Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film Thug Life hit the theatres on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Although released globally, it did not premiere in Karnataka due to an ongoing Kannada-Tamil language controversy. The absence from Karnataka may have affected its overall box office performance.

According to early data from Sacnilk, the film has collected ?4.4 crore on its second day (Friday) by 8:30 pm, bringing the total to ?19.9 crore. The Day 1 collection was ?15.5 crore, indicating a significant drop in business on Day 2.

Occupancy rates also fell. On Thursday, average occupancy was around 50% during the day and 62% at night. On Friday, morning shows saw only 20% occupancy, afternoon shows 28%, and evening shows around 31%.

The film’s future on OTT has been confirmed. Kamal Haasan stated that Thug Life will be available on Netflix but only after 8 weeks from its theatrical release. The film also marks a reunion between Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam after several years.
