A hidden truth. An unknown enemy. A crime in the mind. Only he can solve it. These short sentences dot the trailer for '118', a thriller. Cinematographer-turned-director KV Guhan is definitely coming up with a story-based film.

Going by the trailer, the film doesn't belong to the typical commercial format. Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is up against something that tortures his mind. Is it for real? Or is it a hallucination? An expert (Nasser) is heard writing it off as a bad dream. But the logical mind of the hero and his "vedhava curiosity" know that he has to crack the mystery.

The action shots (choreography is by Anbariv, Venkat, Real Sateesh) and a character's warning to the hero not to go against the powerful system hint at shades of a vigilante drama.

Shalini Pandey ('Arjun Reddy' girl) plays the hero's lover who stands by him ("I think you should finish what you have started"). But it's Nivetha Thomas who gets to play a more important character. She is in trouble in the story.

Shekhar Chandra's music and the director's cinematography are to be watched out for. Dialogues are by Mirchi Kiran, V. Srinivas. Mahesh Koneru has produced the movie on East Coast Productions.

The film releases on March 1.
