Rafael Nadal has done it again. He has won his 12th Roland-Garros title, defeating Dominic Thiem in the finals on Sunday. The King of Clay only lost one set and finished the game in three hours with a final score of 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1. Nadal ecstatic after the victory said: “It is incredible. I am very, very happy. It is something very special. It is difficult to imagine winning so much in the same place, particularly here at Roland-Garros. You cannot say it is a dream, because I never dreamed of such a thing.”

The tournament win was not all that easy for the Spaniard who was facing some injuries. He said: “I have had a very difficult year with a lot of physical problems. One month ago I didn’t even know I would be here. For me, the simple fact of having tried, having trained well in the last weeks to come back, is my biggest satisfaction.” He also spoke about being satisfied with what he has. Rafa said: “You cannot be thinking ‘one more’ all the time, otherwise you are never happy. You want more money, a bigger house, a new boat, an even prettier girlfriend! You cannot be happy like that – I don’t like the frustration. You have to thank life for all that it gives you.”

The 33-year-old is still in supreme form. Several sportspeople congratulated him on the incredible win.
