To provide the basic amenities to a section of people the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike – BBMP has decided to acquire 13 acres of land belonging to
HMT factory. For this acquisition the BBMP will decide on the possibilities.

Hindustan Machine Tools factory is selling the land belonging to it to pay the monthly wages to its employees. Instead of private operators buying it,
buying for BBMP is the thought. This would help in construction of roads, shopping complex, auditorium and wastes management unit would be set up. The
people of that locality also submitted a memorandum to this effect.

In the past Rs.4.45 crore per acre was given for road expansion. It was 2016 December agreement. HMT management is contemplating on selling the vacant
land to IIWR and NAL organizations. This sale agreement of HMT and private companies would not allow BBMP to take progress work in favor of public. To provide basic amenities 13 acres of land is required. The BBMP has to make payment of Rs.57.91 crores to acquire this land. From the allotment of
Devaraj Urs Kalakendra Rs.10 crores and Waste Management unit Rs.10 crores deviation to purchase land would make BBMP to allocate Rs.37.91 crores in the
coming budget says the officials.
