2 Men, Woman Beaten for Suspectedly Carrying Beef

On May 22nd, in a village in Madhya Pradesh, two men and one woman were hit by five men due to allegedly carrying beef in an autorickshaw. A video taken by an eyewitness shows the men being tied to a tree and hit. One of the men was also forced to say "Jai Shri Ram" and hit his wife with a slipper as she crouched on the ground with a cloth on her head. No one called the police during the incident.

The attackers shouted "Jai Shri Ram" as they thrashed the three individuals. A complaint was filed on them for carrying beef, and the three were sent to judicial custody. Meat samples have been sent for forensic analysis. After one of the victim's sister saw the video of the beatings posted on Facebook, she filed an FIR. Following this, the 5 men, Yogesh Uikey, Deepesh Namdev, Rohit Yadav, Shyamlal Dehria and Shubham Baghel have been arrested. Police Officer Lalit Shakyavar said: "The video is four days old and four people have been arrested. They have been sent to jail by a local court. One more accused has been arrested. He will appear in court today.

” A case has been filed under IPC sections 341, 294, 323, 147, 148, 149, 325 and 354 and section 25 of the Arms Act.
