The Teaser for '2.0' will be out on September 13. Amidst confusion regarding its format, Lyca Productions has said that it will be released on 2D as well.  

"We hereby clarify that the Teaser will be released in both 2D and 3D formats.  The 3D teaser will be screened in select theatres across the world from the 13th.  The list of theatres will be unveiled very soon. Since we have shot the magnum opus in 3D, we are putting in a lot of effort to make the teaser experience special," Lyca has said.

The 2D version will be released both on YouTube as well as in all screens across India and abroad.  

With music by AR Rahman, the sci-fi has been directed by Shankar.  The teaser is expected to be long since it will introduce the characters played by Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar.
