2018: Mohanlal's upcoming movies SLIDE SHOW
Actor Mohanlal had fours releases in the year 2017. Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol was Mohanlal's first release of the year. The movie turned out to be a box-office hit and was raved about by the family audience. However, the actor's other three releases - 1971 Beyond Borders, Velipadinte Pusthakam and the much-hyped Villain could not live up to the expectations. Odiyan
Mohanlal’s new fit avatar for his upcoming movie Odiyan is the latest talk of M-Town. Mohanlal has lost about 18 kgs in about 2 months to play the younger version of Odiyan Manikyan in the film, which is slated for 2018 release.The shooting of the project started last year and the with the fit new look, the actor is set to join the final schedule of Odiyan from January first week in Palakkad. This is the first time, Mohanlal is undergoing a drastic makeover for a film. Odiyan is the directorial debut of ad filmmaker Shrikumar Menon. In the movie, Mohanlal plays the last surviving member of a tribal community called 'Odiyan' in Kerala. Mohanlal will be seen in the role of Manikyan, a man who is mastered in Odividya and will be featured in the age of 30 to 65 in multiple looks. 'Odiyan' will have Manju Warrier in the female lead along with Prakash Raj, Narain and many others in important roles.
Ajoy Varma directorial
After the completion of Odiyan, Mohanlal will start shooting for Bollywood director Ajoy Varma’s yet to be titled film. As per reports, Meena, Prakash Raj and Trisha will be seen in prominent roles in the upcoming thriller. Newcomer Saju Thomas has scripted this movie, which will be shot in Mumbai, Pune, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Lucifer
Prithviraj debut directorial Lucifer starring Mohanlal in the lead role is one of the most anticipated movies of 2018. By June, once after Mohanlal completes shooting for Ajoy Varma directorial, the actor would join Lucifer. Scripted by Murali Gopy, Aashirvad Cinemas is funding this biggie.
Shaji Kailas directorial
Aftet a decade long gap, hitmaker Shaji Kailas is teaming up with Mohanlal for an upcoming action entertainer. Scripted by Renji Panicker, the upcoming venture will also be produced by Aashirvad Cinemas. According to sources, Mohanlal is also in talks with veteran directors Priyadarshan, Bhadran, Joshiy and Shyamaprasad. An official announcement on the projects are yet to come. Well, after these listed projects, Mohanlal would once again team up with Odiyan director Shrikumar Menon for the ambitious project 'Mahabharata', which will start rolling in 2019. Looks like an exciting year is ahead for all Mohanlal fans!
