'24' is touted to be the first of its kind Sci-fi thriller in Tamil Cinema that revolves around the concept of time. The film stars Suriya in triple roles and he appears in five different getups that includes a scientist, a menacing villain who is also a scientist a paralysed old man and an youngster. The other cast members are Samantha, Sathyan, Saranya Ponvannan, Mohan Raman and Nithya Menen among others.
The film is directed by Vikram Kumar, whose previous movies are the superhit 'Yavarum Nalam' in Tamil and the Nageshwara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya starrer 'Manam' in Telugu. The Music score is by A.R.Rahman, Veteran cinematographer Tirru makes a comeback in Tamil with this film. Prawin Pudi the editing and production is by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. Art Director duo Amit and Subrata Chakraborty who have worked in Bollywood films have made their Kollywood and Tollywood debut with `24'
Suriya plays twin brothers and the son of the elder brother. One of the twin brothers is Athreya which is the first negative character played by Suriya in his career and for this reason the expectations on Suriya's performance in this character has gone sky high.
The trailer has the grandeur and stands promise an out of world experience backed by technical richness, Suriya and other artists' performance and a brilliant concept. The trailers stand proof for the fact that extraordinary hardwork, huge investment of money and extreme commitment has gone into the project. Vikram Kumar with his team has managed to create a huge and genuine level of expectations for the film.
Oscar Nayagan A.R.Rahman's songs are already topping the charts. We can be assured that they would have been picturised aesthetically. Re-recording will be another big plus for the film.
With all these, '24' has become the magnum opus of Suriya. The film is also having a simultaneous grand release in Telugu. K.E.Gnanavel Raja of Studiogreen has confirmed that the film will be releasing in 2,150 screens across the globe.
