In a move that's thrilled fans, it has been officially announced that Captain Vijayakanth’s action-packed hit Vallarasu will be re-released soon — 25 years after it first hit theaters.
Originally released on April 14, 2000, Vallarasu became a major commercial success and remains one of Vijayakanth’s most celebrated films. Interestingly, this announcement comes just days after the re-release of Vijay’s Sachin, which originally shared the same release date.
Directed by N. Maharajan and produced by L.K. Sudheesh, Vijayakanth’s brother-in-law, Vallarasu featured a powerful cast including Devayani as the female lead, alongside Raghuvaran, Livingston, Mansoor Ali Khan, P. Vasu, Sundararajan, Thalaivasal Vijay, and Ponnambalam. The music, composed by Deva, added to the film’s mass appeal.
Following the re-release trend of Tamil cult classics, fans have taken to social media expressing their excitement to once again watch Vallarasu on the big screen. The nostalgia factor, combined with Vijayakanth’s enduring popularity, is expected to draw strong crowds.
As fans eagerly await the official release date, Vallarasu is all set to reignite its legacy for a new generation of moviegoers.
