Enthralling Music
Friday, July 9, 2004 • Tamil Comments

After enthralling music buffs in Kerala, the music of 4 The People, a Malayalam blockbuster, comes in Tamil as 4 Students. Set to tunes by Jassie Gift, a number Lajjavathiyae has caught the attention of many. Sung by Jassie Gift himself, the song with excellent orchestration and additional rap in between. Equally appealing is the number Annakilli sung by Prasanna while Harish Raghavendra has rendered the Povvale Indha song.

Jassie Gift, a musician and a post-graduate in psychology had earlier come out with a music album, The Gift, during his academic years. With 4 The People, he has set a new trend in Malayalam film music and hopes to do the same in Tamil too. Certainly, the songs have good lyrics penned by Na Muthukumar and Palani Bharathy. Undoubtably, the songs are sure to appeal to music buffs.

The movie has Boys-fame Bharath and Gopika in the lead.  The movie is directed by Jayaraj, who wielded the megaphone for movies like  Deshadanam and Kaliyattam. He says, Jassie Gift is one of the best things to happen in the film music world. Lajjavathiyae is already a hit not just in India but also abroad, where several Indians live.
