Isaipuyal A.R. Rahman made the nation proud by winning twin Oscars for his musical score in the movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' directed by Danny Boyle that released in the year 2008. He got the statuettes for Best Original Score and Best Song.

Rahman in his recent interview shared that his late mother Kareema Begum had the Oscar statuettes in her house and believing them to be gold she had wrapped them in clothes and kept them in a cupboard. Last December Kareema passed away and Rahman decided to take the awards to his house and when he searched he could not find them.

The Mozart of Madras shared that when he almost thought that his much-coveted Oscar Awards were lost his son A.R. Ameen found them in a cupboard in a different room and everyone was relieved.

ARR has currently turned film writer and producer for the new movie '99 Songs' which is releasing on April 16th worldwide in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. He is also scoring the music for the upcoming films that include Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan', Vikram's 'Cobra', Sivakarthikeyan's 'Ayalaan' , Simbu-GVM's 'Nadhigalilae Neeradum Suriyan' and Parthiban's 'Iravin Nizhal'.
