A.R. Rahman in Oscar race again

The Mozart of Madras, A.R. Rahman did India proud by bringing home two Oscars in the year 2009 for his work in the critically acclaimed super hit ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. Again in the year 2011 Rahman was nominated for the Academy Awards for ‘127 Hours’ directed by Danny Boyle who also helmed the previous film.

Now Iran’s official entry to the Oscars is ‘Muhamed : The Messenger of God’ directed by one of the most respected film makers of world cinema Majid Majidi. It may be recalled that a religious outfit issued a fatwa against Rahman for being associated with this film.
