Actor Jayam Ravi and his wife Aarthi are currently undergoing divorce proceedings, with the case still pending in court. While the couple has remained mostly silent on their separation, the actor’s recent appearance at a wedding alongside singer Kenisha sparked widespread speculation and criticism online. In response, Aarthi has issued an emotional and powerful statement on her Instagram, breaking her silence for the first time.
Here’s what she wrote:
“I break my silence today—for the sake of my children. For the past year, I have chosen silence, not out of weakness, but as a form of fasting—for peace. My children's emotional well-being has always been more important to me than my right to speak out.
I have silently endured all the accusations, defamations, and humiliations thrown my way. I remained quiet, despite having truth and justice on my side, because I didn’t want my children to feel torn between their parents.
What the world sees today is a version of events far from reality. Though our divorce is still under legal consideration, the man I once held hands with for 18 years has not only let go of mine but seems to have also washed his hands of the promises he made.
I’ve been raising our children alone for months, wiping away their tears in silence. As he begins a new relationship, the one we built now looks like a burden in his eyes. Despite all this, I am still being painted as someone who is after money.
If I were truly money-minded, I would have secured my safety long ago instead of losing everything for the sake of love. I chose to live with love, not calculations. Even now, I don’t regret that love. But I can no longer allow myself to be seen as weak.
Our children, aged 10 and 14, may not grasp the complexities of legal proceedings, but they fully understand the pain of being left behind—the missed calls, the broken promises, the absence.
Today, I speak not as a wife, nor a woman burdened by blame, but as a mother who must protect her children. Failing to do so would mean I, too, am abandoning them. You can raise your status, you can change your name—but you cannot change the truth. Fatherhood is not a label—it is a responsibility.
My children’s physical and emotional health has been affected by those who came into our lives. Their tears echo in every corner. You may ignore my voice, but not their pain.
To those calling themselves well-wishers, please know my Instagram will continue to bear the name Aarthi Ravi—until the law says otherwise. I urge the media not to label me as his ex-wife. Let the court decide.
I speak today not for vengeance or attention, but for the future of my children. Even now, as I wipe my tears in silence, I rise again and again—for the two sons who still call him father.”
Aarthi’s deeply personal message has resonated with many, shedding light on the silent struggles she has faced as a mother navigating a painful separation. Her request is simple yet powerful: to let truth and law prevail, and to prioritize the emotional wellbeing of children over public spectacle.
