Cinema isn't a fairy tale. But `Aayirathil Oruvan' is surely one. For the movie by Selvaraghavan, after facing all hurdles for two long years, is finally ready with all vim and vigour to see the light of the day.

Produced by R Raveendran, Karthi Sivakumar and Reema Sen have been cast in lead roles while R Parthiban acts in a guest role as does Andrea Jeremiah. The story and screenplay are penned by the director himself.

Interestingly, `Aayirathil Oruvan' is the first Selvaraghavan minus Yuvan Shankar Raja film. The duo was one of the most favoured director-musician combo in recent times. G V Prakash has scored the music.

Graphics comprise most part of the movie and the film seems to center around life from 2009 and dates back to the 7th century. "But this doesn't mean that it depicts any real-life experiences, it is all my imagination. It is a fantasy movie" says Selvaraghavan.

He adds: "Shooting `Aayirathil Oruvan' was a fulfilling experience. Every scene is a challenge. So the long gap is unavoidable. The film will definitely be one in a thousand (Aayirathil Oruvan), a wholesome entertainer."

On working with Selva, Karthi says, "He is a perfectionist who keeps us on our toes, but I've no problem with that. In fact, not many know his other side - he has a great sense of humour. His one-liners are terrific."

Throwing light on the film, Reema Sen says, "Aayirathil Oruvan revolves around four key characters. It travels back and forth in time, and explores a gamut of emotions. The script is original and not a rip-off from famous Hollywood films as rumoured."

On her role, she says, "I play a heavy-duty role - unlike my past breezy appearances. The second half of the film is particularly powerful. It demands an intense delineation of the character I play."
