Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan had given a comeback of sorts with his last release, the Anurag Kashyap directorial Manmarziyaan, also starring Tapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, and his subtle portrayal of caring, deeply in love husband was appreciated by critics.

The latest buzz is that Abhishek Bachchan has been approached to play the lead role in the Hindi remake of French superhit Nuit Blanche, and this movie will reportedly have him playing a cop who has to save his son held ransom by a drug mafia kingpin, after a drug smuggling plan gone wrong.

This project will be produced by Tanu Weds Manu producer Shailesh R Singh, and an official announcement will be made soon. Incidentally, Nuit Blanche was remade in 2015 by Rajesh M Selva, and starred Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in the lead role that Abhishek Bachchan will reprise in Hindi soon.
