Director Kannan, a former associate of Mani Ratnam, had started his career with the successful Jayam Kondan, went on to direct movies like Kanden Kaadhalai, Settai, Vandhaan Vendraan, Boomerang etc.

After last directing the comedy entertainer Biskoth starring Santhanam, Kannan has completed Thalli Pogathey starring Atharva and Anupama Parameswaran, and this movie is the remake of Telugu hit Ninnukori.

Now Kannan is set to direct yet another remake and this time around he's directing the Tamil and Telugu remake of recent Malayalam hit movie Great Indian Kitchen starring Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramoodu, which was critically acclaimed. Kannan has acquired the remake rights of Great Indian Kitchen and the cast will be announced soon.
