Actor Santhanam has been injured in a fight with a builder in Valasaravakkam on Monday evening. 

Sources with the police department said that the top comedian planned to build a mall in Kundrathur and he had deputed Shanmugasundaram, a Chennai based builder to construct a mall by paying an undisclosed amount in advance. 

The agreement was later cancelled and Santhanam has been seeking the return of advance from the builder. The builder has allegedly failed to pay the advance amount even after several attempts from Santhanam's side.

On Monday evening, Santhanam visited Shanmugasundaram's office at Valasaravakkam with his personal manager Ramesh. The argument between the actor and builder ensured in a fist fight. As the duo exchanged blows both of them were injured. Santhanam's manager Ramesh and Shanmugasundaram's friend Amarnath who was also at the place, joined the fight and they were also injured. 

The nearby residents after hearing the commotion intervened and took all the four  to a nearby private hospital where they received treatment for injuries.  

Shanmugasundaram has launched a police complaint against Santhanam.
