Actor Easwar, known for his roles in Tamil serials like "Office," "Kalyana Parisu," and "Devathayai Kanden," shared his experiences in the television industry.
Discussing his journey, he said, "Stability in the media industry is challenging for male actors. I have been solely an actor for the past 15 years without any side business. The competition has increased with the rise of social media influencers. To stay relevant, we must be active on social platforms, though I don't see it as a healthy trend. Many actors are losing job opportunities due to this. Currently, there are over 2,300 registered actors in the Small Screen Actors Association, but half of them are unemployed. I have continued solely on my self-confidence. Some of my friends insist on playing only hero roles, but I have taken up various roles post-lockdown to sustain in the industry."
Speaking about his debut serial "Office," he recalled, "It was my first project, and I got the role unexpectedly. I went to Vijay TV for someone else's audition, where director Ramanan Sir noticed me and asked me to meet the director. A week later, I received a call, and that was the beginning of my journey. The serial taught me how to act. After that, I received consecutive opportunities from Vijay TV, Sun TV, and Zee Tamil."
Regarding his short break since last October, he mentioned, "Before that, I was constantly working. I also acted alongside Priya Bhavani Shankar in 'Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai.' Back then, she wasn’t keen on films, but now she has made a mark in cinema, which makes me happy."
On a personal front, he shared, "The recent judgment was in my favor, proving my innocence. My parents and friends have supported me all along. Without them, I wouldn't be here."
Reflecting on late director and actor Manobala, he said, "Manobala, who was the vice president of the Small Screen Actors Association, advised me a lot. He told me to be tactful instead of being blunt. He personally reached out to directors asking if they could do a film without him, which landed him roles in multiple films. I learned from him the importance of staying busy in the industry."
