Sunday, April 18, 2021 • Tamil Comments

Legendary comedy actor and social activist Vivek passed away in the early morning of Saturday leaving the Tamil cinema fraternity and fans all over the world in deep grief. He suffered a massive heart attack on Friday morning and was treated in the ICU of a private hospital but lost the battle.

Vivek took it on himself to fulfill the dream of former Indian President the late APJ Abdul Kalam and planted millions of trees throughout the state and continued in his efforts tirelessly by inspiring youngsters as well.

Personally, the long-time dream of Vivek was to turn director of films and was trying to achieve with for almost twenty five years. Long back he tried to make a film with Captain Vijayakanth and though the busy superstar was impressed by the storyline the project could not take off due to the factors.

Similarly it is said that Vivek also pitched another story to Thala Ajith during the making of 'Kadhal Mannan' and that too did not come to fruition in spite of their close friendship due to external factors.

Now producer Sathya Jyothi Thiagarajan in his condolence message on Vivek's death has revealed that for the past one month the veteran actor was in touch with him to make a new film and was in the process of selecting the cast. Popular editor Rueben too has shared "Just can’t digest the uncertainty in life...Recently met him for the narration of his directorial debut & now God s got his call sheets! ...One very kind & humble soul have left us".

It's truly unfortunate for fans who have enjoyed Viveks' onscreen entertainment for the past thirty-five years could never get to experience the creative side of him behind the camera as well.
