Actors association known as the Nadigar Sangham is for the first time witnessing a keen battle. The general body has agreed to conduct polls for the office bearers on January 30th. The nominations are to be filed on January 3rd and last date for withdrawal is Jan 8th . Vijaykanth is not likely to contest the elections since the DMK has made it clear that if he contests then they would field Sarath Kumar MP as their candidate. Vijaykanth has told his supporters that he does not wish to bring politics into the Sangham and hence is quitting. During Vijaykanth's tenure only he paid back the debt of Rs 1 crore of the Sangham and also built up a big bank balance to build a new complex in Chennai.
