Famous Tamil director confirms second marriage with actress, files case against another actress

Balaji Mohan, a pioneer of new age cinema made his debut as a director with the super hit 'Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi'. He followed it up with two successful films 'Vaayai Moodi Pesavum' starring Dulquer Salmaan and 'Maari' starring Dhanush and Kajal Aggarwal . He also produced the National Award winning 'Mandela' directed by Madonne Ashwin and starring Yogi Babu in the lead.

In 2012 Balaji Mohan got married to Aruna, whom he fell in love with while directing his first film but later got divorced. A few weeks ago, Telugu TV actress Kalpika Ganesh, in an interview alleged that Balaji Mohan secretly married actress Dhanya Balakrishna. She stated that the director was controlling his wife and is refusing to allow her to act or promote the Telugu movies she has already done.

Balaji Mohan has filed a petition in the Madras High Court. In the petition, “I have directed films like How I Fall in Love, Maari and Maari 2. I got married to Dhanya Balakrishna, who has acted in films like '7 aam Arivu' and 'Raja Rani, on 23rd January last. Kalpika Ganesh, an actress from Telangana who acts in web series, has released videos on YouTube to spread defamation about our marriage and personal life. She also shared it on social media."

The director has prayed the court to ban Kalpika Ganesh from making defamatory comments about his and his wife's personal lives and has also sought rupees one crore as compensation as damages for the actress's attempt to defame them.

The case came up for hearing before Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy. Advocate Vijayan Subramanian appeared and argued on behalf of the petitioners. The judge ordered a restraining order to Kalpika Ganesh against making defamatory comments about director Balaji Mohan and Dhanya Balakrishna. She was also ordered to respond to this petition by January 20 and adjourned the hearing.
