Renowned actress and Bharatanatyam dancer Divya Unni's father Unnikrishnan passed away due to heart attack on Thursday morning. He was 71. He was the trustee of Ponneth Temple and is survived by wife Umadevi, children Divya Unni, Vidya Unni and son-in-laws Arun Kumar and Sanjay.
Divya Unni was one of the most sought-after actresses of the 90s and 2000s ‘Aakashaganga’, ‘Nee Varuvolam’, ‘Karunyam’, and ‘Usthad’ among others. Post her wedding, she quit cinema and got settled in the US.
Divya Unni tied the knot with Arun Kumar in 2018, an engineer from the USA. The couple was blessed with a baby girl on January 14, 2020. The actress has two kids in her first marriage as well. Divya, who is also a trained dancer, currently runs a dance school in the US and is settled there. Divya Unni is a doting daughter and often used to share pictures and pen notes for her parents on her Instagram page.
