Veteran actress Jayanthi hospitalized

Veteran multilingual actress Jayanthi has been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru after complaining of breathing difficulties. A COVID 19 test has been taken and the result has, fortunately, come out as negative according to her son Krishnakumar. Earlier in 2018 too the septuagenarian was hospitalized with similar problems as she is a chronic asthma patient and after treatment got relieved. Her condition now is said to be stable.
Jayanthi was a leading actress in the black and white era and has acted in over 500 films in all South Indian languages and in Tamil she has paired up with legendary actors like MGR, Sivaji, Jaishankar, Muthuraman and Nagesh. Later she has also done a number of character roles with her recent notable work as Pathiban's pair in the 1999 film 'Houseful' starring Vikram and Suvalakshmi in the lead.
