Biriyani actress absconding - CBI issues another lookout order

Actress Leena Maria Paul who acted in the character Sree Devi in 'Biriyani' directed by Venkat Prabhu and starring Karthi and Hansika Motwani has been absconding for several months. She is wanted in a number of fraud cases and the latest one is trying to extort money from a Telangana businessman masquerading as the CBI.

Leena is alleged to have tried to extort crores of rupees from the TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao with the help of two people who impersonated as CBI officers in January. Their names are Manivardhan Reddy and Selvam Ramaraj, who hail from Hyderabad and Madurai, respectively.

NDTV reported in February that the duo had confessed that the conspiracy was hatched by Leena, a partner of Sukesh Chandrasekar, who is accused in a number of India-wide cheating cases. The lookout notice was issued against Leena because the CBI had information that she might flee India.

Apart from 'Biriyani' Leena Maria Paul who hails from Kochi has also acted in the Malayalam movies 'Red Chilies' and 'Madras Cafe'.
