Veteran actress Ranjani to file case against actor for whatsapp chat?

Ranjani is pretty popular after starring in a number of classic movies of the eighies including 'Kadalora Kavithaigal', 'Mudhal Mariyadhai', 'Mannukkul Vairam', 'Muthukkal Moondru' and 'Velicham'. The Singapore born veteran actress who is also a practicing lawyer and social activist is married and settled in Kerala.

Ranjani is in the news now after her angry outburst against a drama actor Vasudevan who allegedly used the derogatory words to address her. The Nadigar Sangam has a Whatsapp group in which Ranjani a life member is also a part. It is said that Vasudevan posted details of the coronavirus relief help that he did to impoverished actors in his hometown Tiruvannamalai.

Ranjani had asked him in Whatsapp text who he is and whether he is an actor to which Vasudevasan had replied in Tamil "I am an actor but your profession is different". Ranjani has claimed that the actor meant "profession" in the wrong sense used in the film industry and that she will take action against him.

Vasudevan meanwhile has stated that he did not mean anything else but he wrote it in the sense " I am a drama actor and you are a film actress and both our professions are different". Many other actors on the group including Manobala and Kutti Padmini tried to mediate peace between the warring factions but none would listen to them according to reports.
