Roja is a great inspiration for women folk for her rise from humble beginnings to attaining superstardom in South Indian cinema and transitioning into a respected politician. She is now serving her second term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh.

A recent video that has gone viral on the internet shows Roja playing Kabaddi with a men's team in her Nagari constituency. The event was presided by the MLA and she took it upon herself to show her sporting side and the crowd was sure impressed by her raiding ability going into the territory of the opposition players and trying to get them out.

Roja who is married to filmmaker R.K. Selvamani for two decades has two children daughter Anshumalika and son Krishna Lohith.
