Veteran actress seriously injured in car accident

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi was seriously injured in a road accident on the Mumbai - Pune highway when a truck rammed into the Tata Safari car she was travelling in on the way to her holiday home in Kandala. Amlesh Kamat the driver of the car was also injured and a case has been filed against the truck driver. The incident occurred around 3.30pm on Saturday.
Shabana after getting first aid at the MGM hospital in Navi, Mumbai was later shifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute in Andheri west, Mumbai where she is undergoing intensive care treatment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi among other celebrities across the country have posted their get well soon messages to the record breaking five times Best Actress National Award winner.
