Young actress Shivani Narayanan who is barely out of her teens yet already captured the imagination of viewers through her television serials 'Pagal Nilavu' and 'Kadaikutty Singam' in which she was paired opposite actor Azeem. Shivani and Azeem also showed their dancing skills in Jodi Number One and their chemistry was well appreciated.

Shivani then contested on 'Bigg Boss 4' hosted by Kamal Haasan and was one of the few to survive till almost the end of the show. She was criticized for being a silent spectator for almost 80 days and only took steam in the final few days. However, she compensated by providing the romance quotient with Balaji Murugadoss that kept the audience interest in her.

In the pre-climax of 'Bigg Boss 4' relatives and friends of the contestants were allowed inside and Shivani's mother Akila Narayanan shocked those in the house and the viewers by scolding her daughter pretty severely. Hearing the barrage of harsh words including expletives from her mother Shivani cried uncontrollably and just asked her to stop feeling embarrassed in front of the camera and the other contestants.

Now after several weeks since the grand finale of 'Bigg Boss 4' Shivani has opened up in a latest interview that she thought she deserved her mother's scolding and that's why she did not retaliate then.

Shivani has added that right from her childhood she had never disappointed her mother and since this was the first time she understood how mad her mother was with her. She further felt that as a parent she was giving her only good advice and after her pointing out her flaws she performed better on the show.

Shivani has also shared that in the final Singa Penn task she endured a lot of pain to win and that made her mother proud of her once again.
