Shruti Haasans Hollywood film making waves at international film festivals

Shruti Haasan the multi-talented eldest daughter of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has a lot to cheer as she has some very interesting upcoming projects up her sleeve. Shruti recently completed shooting for her Hollywood film 'The Eye' which is now making all the right noises at various film festivals.

A proud Shruti wrote on Insta ""THE EYE Sometimes you get to be a part of something magical, emotional and truthful - this was that special movie for me - I can’t wait for all of you to see it The Eye has been nominated for best director @daphneschmon and best dop @jameschegwyn at the Greek international film screenings - nominated for best film at the London independent film festival The eye was filmed in corfu and made with love and care for the environment as well , the entire cast and crew worked toward reducing the environmental and carbon impact using the green shoots sustainability platform.,"

The Eye revolves around a young widow who travels back to her native island to scatter the ashes of her ;ate husband. However, her life takes a dramatic turn and she is forced to confront the dark forces within her when she learns the nature of her husband's death. The narrative seems to contain a supernatural element as the widow is presented with a choice to bring her husband back.

Earlier showcasing the film at Cannes, Shruti stated "When I read the script, I felt it had the voice of what you will like as a woman. It's just emotionally brave. There are certain places we avoid within ourselves and this film goes there. And to have the opportunity to play that part is incredible. I had the most amazing time (doing this film),"

'The Key' is directed by Daphne Schmon with Emily Ann Carlton serving as the writer and produced by Melanie Elizabeth Dicks. The film stars Shruti Haasan as Diana with Mark Rowley as her husband "Felix" supported by Anna Savva, Christos Christos Stergioglou and Elpida Stathatou.

Shruti is also the female lead of 'Salaar' directed by Prashanth Neel and starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead which is one of the most acticipated Indian films in recent time. The gangster saga is slated for release on December 22nd as a grand Christmas treat for fans.
