Simran had at that time accused a dance choreographer of dating the 21 year old Monal and then suddenly breaking up with her.

Simran took to Twitter to remember Monal on her 20th death anniversary. She wrote "I may not have you here, but I know we will always have each other. Though it's been 20 years, a little bit of you always lives in me. We all miss you, Monu. Forever."

Simran is currently starring in Vikram's 'Dhruva Natchathiram', Madhavan's 'Rocketry The Nambi Effect', Prashanth's 'Andhagan', Arya's 'Captain' and Arvind Swamy's 'Vanangamudi'.
