Popular Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen has revealed that she suffered a sudden heart attack. She took to Instagram to share a pic with her father and wrote “Keep your heart happy & courageous, and it’ll stand by you when you need it the most Shona” (Wise words by my father @sensubir ) I suffered a heart attack a couple of days back…Angioplasty done…stent in place…and most importantly, my cardiologist reconfirmed ‘I do have a big heart’"

The former Miss Universe added "Lots of people to thank for their timely aid & constructive action…will do so in another post! This post is just to keep you (my well wishers & loved ones) informed of the good news …that all is well & I am ready for some life again!!! I love you guys beyond!!!!"

Sushmita has been suffering for a long time from Addison's disease and requires lifelong steroid drugs to manage the illness. The 47 year old has never married but has two adopted children.

Sushmita Sen one of the leading heroines in the 90s won the Miss Universe title in 1994. She debuted as actress in Hindi and her very next film was 'Rachagan' in Tamil that had Nagarjuna in the lead with A.R. Rahman scoring the music. She has played the lead in several Hindi films including 'Main Hoon Na' opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
