Both the damsels share some striking similarities. Both of them are natives of Kerala and speak Malayalam as their mother tongue. Both of them debuted as an actress in a Malayalam film but pursued a career in Kollywood and remained as top heroines for long.

Asin's first film was 'Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka' while Amala Paul's was 'Neelathamara'.

Asin entered Kollywood through 'Ullam Ketkume' directed by Jeeva but her first Tamil film to release was 'M.Kumaran S/o Mahalakshmi'. Asin become a top heroine with her debut film itself and went on to act with Vijay (Pokkiri, Kavalan), Ajith (Varalaru), Suriya (Ghajini), Vikram (Majaa) and Kamal Haasan (Dasavatharam). She was also acting in Telugu films and had her share of success in Tollywood as well. She moved to Bollywood with the Hindi remake of the blockbuster film 'Ghajini' to reprise the same role she played in Tamil with near perfection. From then on Asin has been concentrating only in Bollywood films and she has acted with Bollywood superstars Aamir Khan (Ghajini), Salman Khan (London Dreams, Ready), Abhishek Bachchan (All is Well), Ajay Devgan (Bol Bachchan) and Akshay Kumar (Houseful 2, Khiladi 786). The only Tamil film she acted after her Bollywood entry was 'Kavalan' which released in 2011.

Amala Paul entered Kollwood with the less noticed 'Veerasekaran'. She shot to fame with 'Mynaa' the film which apart from becoming a commercial super hit was publicly praised by Kollywood veterans Kamal Haasan and Bala. She went on to act with Vikram in the critically acclaimed 'Deviathirumagal'. She acted as the heroine of Vijay in 'Thalaiva', Arya in 'Vettai', Jayam Ravi in 'Nimirndhu Nil' and Dhanush in the super hit film 'Veilai Illa Pattadhari'. She kept acting in Malayalam and Telugu films and remained one of the top actresses in all the three film industries of South India. She entered wedlock with her lover director Vijay in 2014 and announced a break in acting career. However she has been acting in good cameo roles coming her way. She acted in a notable cameo role in R.Parthiepan directed cult film 'Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam' and she can be seen in another important cameo role as Suriya's wife in the latter's production venture 'Pasanga 2' directed by National award winner Pandiraj.

The coming months will be very crucial in the lives of both the actresses. Asin is expected to enter wedlock in early 2016 with her long time beau Rahul Sharma and enter an important phase of her life. Amala on the other hand will be adding a new dimension to her professional life as she has turned producer with the Priyadarshan directed 'Sila Nerangalil'

Indiaglitz wishes Asin and Amala Paul a Happy Birthday and success in all their future endeavors. .
