Adavadi is no different in which Sathyaraj plays a 'maniac' film director and naturally makes easy fun of Tamil film heroines and the working culture of the industry in general.
Director Bharath Hanna, who had earlier teamed up with Sathyaraj in Adithadi, directed this film. 'Sundara Travels' Radha makes a comeback playing a film heroine.
The movie begins with Bharath (Sathyaraj) escaping from a mental asylum to go on a killing spree. He proclaims himself as the God who has come to save the country from all social evils.
A flashback reveals why Bharath is forced to go berserk. He is an acclaimed film director with back-to-back hits exposing the corrupt and greedy politicians. When he sets out to commence his next film Reel No 15, the politicians, film personalities and financiers try various means to halt the film. They also seek the help of the movie's heroine Chandni (Radha). He ensures that Bharath falls in her romantic web. When the movie is all ready to go to the floors, she ditches him. A disappointed and dejected Bharath becomes an alchoholic and the movie gets dropped.
After his escape from the mental asylum, a producer from abroad coming to know about Bharath's film urges him to continue it. The rest is all about how Bharath goes on to complete the film and succeeds in his mission.
It is a typical Sathyaraj, who mouths loud dialogues. He also appears in a couple of dance sequences and shakes his legs with Radha. It's a restrained performance from Radha.
The rest of the cast includes T P Gajendran, Vaiyapuri, Kanja Karuppu among others.
