Lok Sabha deputy speaker and AIADMK MP Thambidurai has become the talk of the political fraternity, with his bold statement that there would be no need for reservation if the 15 lakhs money gets deposited to the accounts of public. The central government had charted out the 124th amendment to provide 10% reservation for weaker economic section among the general category in education and employment opportunities.

The approval for this bill was given by the central government, and following this, the minister of social justice and empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot presented the bill in the assembly.During the discussion on this bill, ADMK MP Thambidurai had questioned what the government has contributed so far for the economically backward sections, and while there are so many plans to empower them, he questioned the need for reservation.

"Only when the plans of central government aren't efficient, such reservation schemes will be announced, and Ambedkar had sought reservation, only because he was dishonored despite his education. It is not fair to provide reservation based on economic status, as there are possibilities of producing fake income documents and avail the reservation. What happened to the 15 lakhs that the PM had promised to deposit into citizens accounts? Reservation was brought for the welfare of downtrodden sections, and only if centre follows 69% reservation like TN, people of the nation will get benefited" said Thambidurai.
