  • IndiaGlitz, [Tuesday,January 28 2014]

‘Aha Kalyanam’, the official remake of Bollywood blockbuster small film ‘Band Baja Baraat’ from the legendary Yash Raj Films starring Nani and Vani Kapoor as the lead pair and yesteryear heroine Simran making a serious comeback has finished filming and is in the post production phase. The sound tracks were launched on Monday, the 27th January at an event in Novatel Hotel in Hyderabad amongst the unit members, production house teams and esteemed guests from TFI.

Originally scheduled to be launched on the 23rd Jan in Hyderabad, the event was deferred as a mark of respect to the doyen of the Southern Film Industry, Dr. Akkineni Nageshwar Rao, whose untimely death has left a void in the film industry. The guests and the unit members prayed in silence for a while before taking off with the main event.

In keeping with the movie title theme, ‘Aaha Kalyanam’, the music was launched in an authentic wedding setting especially created for the music launch, where the cast and crew and all special guests were dressed in traditional wedding attire. Men were seen wearing pattu panche and pattu chokka with angavastram and women in pattucheera with flowers as head accessories.

Songs were individually launched by Nani, Director of the film Gokul Krishna, Karunakaran, Music director Dharan Kumar, Lyricist Krishna Chaitanya, heroine Vaani Kapoor and Rana Daggubati. The audio CD pack was unveiled by unveiled by ace producer Dil Raju who handed over the first CD to hero Sunil. All the guests reminisced the legendary Yash Raj Films and the man behind the production house Yash Chopra himself. They wished the decades old organization a great entry into south.

Sunil said ‘It’s a privilege to have been associated with YRF and to have grabbed the lead role in the film is a huge break for Nani and I congratulate him. He is a workaholic and I wish this film will turn out to be a huge runner and will take Nani’s stardom to new heights’

Dil Raju said ‘Nani is a guy who with sheer hard work made a name for himself without any support from anyone. YRF is an ace production house and for over three decades has been making super successful films in Hindi. I am happy to invite them to Tollywood and Kollywood with this film’

Rakendu Mouli said ‘My father wrote dialogues for the Telugu version of Yash Raj’s industry hit DDLJ. My brother wrote dialogues for this film and I wish this film will run well too’

Rafiq, YRF representative said ‘We have done several path breaking films in Bollywood and this is our debut in telugu. Hope to continue to do films in South and Telugu. I thank every one who worked for this film’

Vaani Kapoor said ‘This is my second film and first in Telugu. Gokul is a very patient director, he explained each small detail twice to me. Nani is a great co-star and hope to do another film with him again. I thank everyone who helped me do my role in the film’

Nani said ‘I first thought YRF could have come with a straight subject instead of a remake. But when Gokul narrated the story, I thought this is the apt project. And I was apprehensive about Gokul too but just one day’s shoot, I could understand what he was as a director. He has such a clarity on each detail that when someone came to him with advice, he listened to them but did what he wanted to do…’

Nani added ‘Paisa and Jendapai Kapiraju were full of labor but this is like a picnic between them, a true relaxation. Now that we are hosting Yash Raj in Telugu, let’s show them what our hospitality is like. I wish this will become a huge success and motivate YRF to produce Telugu films regularly…’

‘Music will be a great success since it has the pep and melody. Vaani Kapoor is a wonderful heroine and even though she didn’t know the language, she worked hard to understand and portray the minutest detail in the expression. We are confident that this film will be loved by everyone’ Concluded the actor who is all set to sign February 2014 on his name with as many as three releases.
