It is well aware that the Bollywood hit film 'Dabangg' is being remade in Telugu as 'Gabbar Singh' and Pawan Kalyan is playing the lead role in this movie. Harish Shankar is directing, while Ganeshbabu is producing the movie on the banner of Parameswara Arts.

Sushant’s name was first considered to play the brother's role of Pawan Kalyan which was played by Arbaaz Khan in the original. However, the latest buzz is that Ajay replaced Sushant and the film unit confirmed it.

Arbaaz Khan got many compliments for the role and Ajay is looking forward to get similar compliments in Telugu as well.

Another interesting point to note that the childhood character of Pawan Kalyan would be played by Akash, son of Puri Jagannath. At the same time, Abhimanyu Singh of Rakta Charitra fame was selected to play villain in 'Gabbar Singh'.

Earlier, Sonu Sood, who played in the original was chosen for the role, but Sonu Sood refused the offer. Sruti Hasan is the female lead, and Devisri Prasad is scoring music for the movie.
