Good Bad Ugly vs. GOAT: Opening Day Box Office Clash

Ajith Kumar's latest action-dark comedy film Good Bad Ugly released worldwide on April 10 to much anticipation, especially from his fanbase. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, the film also stars Trisha and marks the Tamil debut of Mythri Movie Makers. Despite high expectations, the movie received mixed reviews. While fans appreciated Ajith's vintage screen presence, critics criticized its weak writing, stating the film only appeals to hardcore fans.

In Good Bad Ugly, Ajith plays AK, aka Red Dragon, a former gangster who returns to his old ways to save his son Vihaan from a drug case. The plot unfolds as he confronts twin antagonists Jammie and Johnny. The film includes several emotional and action-packed moments tailored to Ajith’s loyal audience.

On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated film GOAT (Greatest of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu, broke opening day records by collecting ₹43 crore in India. Vijay played a dual role, and despite getting mixed-to-negative reviews, the star-studded cast and fan following turned the film into a commercial success.

Good Bad Ugly showed a strong box office start with a morning show occupancy rate of over 73%, with early estimates indicating ₹12.56 crore in collections. The film features a large ensemble cast including Usha Uthup, Prabhu, Yogi Babu, and Jackie Shroff. The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, with cinematography by Abinandham Ramanujam.
