Breaking! Ajith Kumar’s Valimai postponed - Official Announcement

'Valimai' is the most-awaited film in the career of Ajith Kumar as the star is teaming up with the talented new-gen filmmaker H Vinoth. Bankrolled by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios, the movie was originally scheduled to hit the screens worldwide on January 13th.

Meanwhile, the state government has imposed night curfews and Sunday lockdowns to control the rise in COVID and Omicron cases. Not only that, cinema halls have been announced to have only a 50% audience limit in many states in India. Following this, the release of Valimai became uncertain but the distributors and theatre owners hoped for the best.

We have already updated you that films like SS Rajamouli's RRR and Prabhas' Radhe Shyam were postponed indefinitely due to the third wave of the pandemic. Now, the makers of Valimai just officially announced that the movie won't release on January 13th and the date is pushed, indefinitely. The 'Valimai' has posted an official statement on their Twitter page.

The official statement reads, "AUDIENCES AND FANS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE SOURCE OF OUR FELICITY. THEIR UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT AND LOVE DURING THE HARD TIMES, INSTILLED VITAL HOPES IN US TO FACE THE HARDSHIPS, AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE OUR DREAM PROJECT. ALL THAT WE DESIRED DURING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT WAS TO SEE THEM CHEERFUL AND HAPPY IN THE CINEMA HALLS. AT THE SAME TIME, THE SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF OUR AUDIENCES HAS ALWAYS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF ALL OUR DECISIONS. GIVEN THE STEEP RISE IN COVID INFECTIONS ACROSS THE GLOBE, AND ABIDING BY THE REGULATIONS OF THE AUTHORITIES, WE HAVE DECIDED TO POSTPONE THE RELEASE OF OUR FILM 'VALIMAI' UNTIL THE SITUATION NORMALISES. GET VACCINATED, WEAR A MASK AND STAY SAFE. SEE YOU IN THEATRES VERY SOON! (sic)"
