Is Thala the new Baasha?

Ajith is busy with the last leg of shooting for Sirutha Siva's untitled film with Shruti Haasan as his love interest and Lakshmi Menon, Mottai Rajendran, Thambi Ramaiah, Mayilswamy and Soori in the supporting cast.
The latest news doing the rounds is that director Suresh Krishna has completed the script for a sequel to his gigantic hit Baasha' which is a milestone film in the career of Superstar Rajinikanth. It is believed that Suresh Krishna actually approached Rajini for the film, but he declined and now the director is said to be in talks with Thala Ajith who seems to have been impressed by it. It is worth to remember that Ajith made a comeback with the remake of Rajini's Billa' and the team believes only Thala can do justice to the larger than life role of Baasha'. Official confirmation is awaited.
