It was announced months ago that Ajith’s 2014 action film ‘Veeram’ was going to be remade in Hindi, with Akshay Kumar most likely playing the lead role. However, it has now been reported that Raazi fame Vicky Kaushal will be replacing Akshay in the movie. Titled LOL – ‘Land Of Lungi,’ the remake will be directed by Farhad Samji.

Akshay Kumar, who was initially interested in the role, had to opt out of the film due to schedule constraints. The actor has already allotted dates for his upcoming projects, Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb (remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 3), and The End. “Vicky met the director a few months back and expressed his interest in the film after he was given the narration. He is not only a great actor, but he has proved to be a huge draw with the audiences at the box office too. LOL is a space that Vicky has never been seen in. It is a complete masala action comedy and given how massy the reach would be, they plan to establish Vicky as the next common man's hero with this film,” the report mentioned.

Bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala, the search for the female lead of LOL is on. Veeram, directed by Siva, had Ajith and Tamanna in the lead roles.
