Ajith Kumar's recent release 'Valimai' not only turned out to be a huge money spinner in spite of mixed reviews but has also become a blockbuster hit on its OTT release on Zee 5.  The box office king is all geared up to shoot his 61st film from April second week onwards.

As reported by us much earlier 'AK 61' is said to be a bank heist movie with Ajith playing a negative lead role.  Grand sets have been erected at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad where majority of the film will be shot.  The team has plans to wrap up the film in one go within three months keeping in mind a Diwali release this year.

The hot updates on 'AK 61' is that though the film is based on a bank heist there will be a minimum of action and that for the first time in his career Ajith will not have any fights.  A source close to the team informs that the screenplay will be very intense and nailbiting and showcase Ajith in an entirely different light than what fans are used to seeing him.  Further in a rare for an Ajith film there will be no family sentiments or subplots and the focus will entirely be on the core that the film deals with.

Will there be mass moments in 'AK 61' is what fans will be asking and the answer is definately yes but it is not in the usual sense is what the source tells us.  Further what the team is super excited about is that Ajith's character and his behaviour will be one to celebrate for a long time much like his Vinayak Mahadev from 'Mankatha'

'AK 61' is directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor with Ghibran scoring the music.  As of now it is said that Aditi Rao Hydari, Tabu, Yogi Babu Prakash Raj and Kavin are the important cast members.  Stay tuned for the official confirmations much sooner than later.
