After Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, and Kajol, the list of celebrities targeted by deepfake videos now includes Alia Bhatt, as a manipulated video of her circulates widely on social media platforms. The video, exhibiting Alia's face superimposed on another woman, has raised concerns regarding the misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

In this latest instance of deepfake controversy, a video featuring a girl adorned in a blue floral co-ord set with Alia's face digitally imposed on it has surfaced. The altered clip portrays the woman making gestures to the camera, overlaying the original footage where she looked into the camera and made explicit gestures.

This incident follows closely on the heels of Prime Minister's recent acknowledgment of the misuse of artificial intelligence for creating deepfakes, emphasizing the imperative role of the media in educating the public about this emerging crisis.

Earlier this month, a deepfake video featuring Rashmika Mandanna triggered widespread concerns about the rampant misuse of AI. The manipulated clip depicted Mandanna entering an elevator, originally featuring Zara Patel, a British-Indian woman who had shared the video on Instagram. The subsequent uproar involved top actors, union ministers, and social media users condemning the incident.

Subsequent deepfake videos targeted Katrina Kaif, showing her in a low-cut white top engaged in a high-octane fight scene with a Hollywood stuntwoman in a sequence from her upcoming film "Tiger 3". Similarly, Kajol was also a victim of a deepfake video, where her face was superimposed on an influencer changing clothes on camera.

Amidst the escalating concerns surrounding deepfake technology, the recent video featuring Alia Bhatt adds to the growing unease, especially after the viral incident involving Rashmika Mandanna.

On the professional front, Alia Bhatt is currently immersed in the filming of the action movie "Jigra," directed by Vasan Bala and co-produced by herself and Karan Johar. Her latest on-screen appearance was in Karan Johar’s "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" alongside Ranveer Singh. As the deepfake issue unfolds, it underscores the need for vigilance and awareness in combating the misuse of AI in the entertainment industry.
